I’ve been working on a book that I need some cartoon illustrations for. My wife and I have already done a few of our own and created a “character” for the cartoons to revolve around, but we both lack the time and talent to make it look really good.

The book is called “the Top 256 Rules of Paleontology: Advice for fossil technichians” The character is a wayward, not-too bright, paleontologist who winds up getting in more trouble than he should. Theres also a dinosaur or two of course. This is a small book with a limited audience, so unfortunately, I do not have too much money to spare on it. Open to $20/cartoon or other options/trade/etc. We would be looking for a handful of black and white cartoon illustrations (5-15 drawn, inked,scanned and e-mailed or placed on disk) + one full color cartoon for the cover. The style would be similar to “the Far Side” comics, where an entire story is told in one pannel and a short bit of text. I can send copy of manuscript and a few prototypes we’ve done for ideas. I’m trying to implement a system where an IVR phone system is linked to an SQL database to storage and retrieve data. It works like this:
A person (caller1) calls to look for a certain service and the IVR system will guide caller1 through different menus (the IVR system is already finished).
After caller1 makes all the selections and hangs up, the IVR system will enter all the information to the database and store it. Later the database will begin a query looking for information already storaged and that matches exactly the information caller1 is looking for. Then, the results will be sent by e-mail to caller1. During the next three following fridays a new (and updated) information will be sent to caller1. After that period the serivce to caller1 will be canceled and caller1 would have to re-register to continue his/her service. The previous procedure will also apply for people/businesses offering different services.
In conclusion, people/bussinesses offering a particular service will receive information about people/businesses looking for the type of service they offer, on the other hand people/businesses looking for a particular service will receive information about people/businesses offering the service they are looking for.
The information to be storaged in the database will be entered either by a caller or by a the database administrator using a localhost (local host already started by another programmer-needs to be finished).

Scope of work will include:
-Finishing a database (SQL) previously started by another programmer.
-Linking the IVR phone system with the database.
-Creating a query to look for a match.
-Sending the information found by the query by email.
-Create a system that sends new and updated information by email every Friday.
-Finish localhost (previously started by another programmer) for database entry (by database administrator).

We like to build a social and networking site in regards to a particular type of professional people. This is kind of combination of facebook and linkedin. The user can able to upload their videos, photos, and their resume . We also want to have forums where users can discuss different topics in their field. We want to have some of the networking features similar to linkedin. Users/companies can able to post their job openings and users can browse job openings.

I am looking for a programmer to build a website for me. It will be an on-line store selling physical products to consumers, and I want it to include or interface with some sort of order management system that will streamline inventory, shipping and accounting tasks.

The starting point is a database of approximately 5,500 different products. I intend to offer my shoppers two or three different ways of browsing and searching through the products to find just what they are looking for; therefore I need someone who is very good with the database side of things.

I would prefer someone with a scientific/technical background (as opposed to an artsy-type person who has taught themselves HTML). The design/aesthetics of the site are very simple and straight forward – it is the functions on the site that need the most attention.

A track record is a must – I need to know that you will be around it the site needs repairs or upgrades.

I’m ready to begin work Jan 1, and want the site finished – by March 31.

You should be able to deal with different accents with people in different countries – Middle East, Africa, Asia, Latin America etc.

- Your end objective is relationship building with clients, so you should be ready to do multiple calls, and develop close relationship with clients. You are a brand ambassador for us.

- Your bid price should be based on per LIVE account basis. Some accounts will take perhaps one call, some will take many calls to bring to close. ONLY BIDS on a per account basis will be accepted. Bids on a per hour basis will not be accepted. You can expect a bonus based on your success, however that is at the discretion of your manager.

- You can expect to be given 250-500 accounts.

-You will have to undergo some virtual training involving reading some background papers on our subject area which is technical, and then do an interview and mock call before final selection.

- You should be prepared to do calls across time zones. You can be located anywhere.
