Enhancing the footers of your articles
The code that follows below will help display the biography, the post count and the avatar of each author’s article on your website.
I bet most of you are strangers to css, xhtml or php but take the assurance that this is a step by step guide through the installation of this on one’s website. It takes a lot of copy and paste processes. And for any problems experienced should be left as comments so that I could see how I can help.
Step 1: open your theme file in WordPress named single.php and seek the code line
Step 2: paste the code below just above the line mentioned above. You may create a new line
<?php $author_email = get_the_author_email();
echo get_avatar($author_email, '140'); ?></span>
<h4 style="font-size:2em; color:#775F55;">
<?php the_author_posts_link(); ?></h4>
<p><?php the_author_description(); ?>
<?php the_author(); ?> has <?php the_author_posts(); ?>
post(s) at your blog name</p>
Replace your blog name in the code above and to adjust the avatar size replace 140 with any other number you like. As always problems experienced should be commented so we could seek the solutions together.
Once you got the page posted into the single.php file, go to the “users/ your profile” in your WordPress admin area. Change your nickname to whatever you want to appear under the name change. Under about yourself-Biographical info add the information you would like to appear at the tail end of the web posts.
