Even before completing my university studies, I knew what I wanted: a perfect job. One that I provide interesting challenges that I would win a lot of money, fame, travel and to allow me to help people.
This work would also ideal time for me to balance my life and explore different facets.
Although it sounds unrealistic half and there is no perfect job, there are rewarding and challenging work and often are more subjective and personal issues that the inherent characteristics of the job or activity that takes place.
The fact is, multiple surveys, which most people are not satisfied with your current job. Perhaps the fate of the human condition: the constant dissatisfaction and fullness never found.
Or perhaps it is simply not easy to nail him.
This dissatisfaction, which comes from deep inside, generates entropies in psychological and psychosomatic.
On the mental side is reflected in what we can not concentrate and there is disharmony between intentions, thoughts and emotions, creating contradictory impulses.
On the side of what is reflected in the psychosomatic ailments, which they do not understand its significance, complemented by a worsening of neurosis. This encourages all kinds of addictions and the needs of temporary escape from our lives.
Generally, there are three main reasons why suffer jobs.
1 .- The job does not make sense and if it does, the person does not see it that way. For example, some government employees, where there tends to excessive bureaucracy, and scientists working in industry or the arms of snuff, are forced to rationalize its use to justify it.
It is also difficult to find a purpose to highly jobs, where those involved rarely feel the satisfaction of creating a “complete” (unlike, for example, running a painting artist).
2 .- The job is boring and routine, does not provide variety and challenge. Rather than create a sense of growth at the individual, it creates a stalemate.
3 .- The job is stressful because there are personal problems with the boss and colleagues, or because there are unrealistic expectations and / or little recognition of achievements.
And of course, there are jobs that have, simultaneously, all three.
There is also the other side of the coin.
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi proposes the concept of Flow, and which I mentioned on other occasions in this space.
Flow in the individual flowers, to be in front of the activity for which “was born” and, therefore, is done quite naturally, beauty and precision.
In this state the person appears to be running their full potential, the time seems to pass and not for anything considered “work.”
If you want to see the flow into action, there are examples like the tennis player Pete Sampras, the poet Pablo Neruda, the golfer Tiger Woods and painters such as Picasso. But do not have to be famous to live in flow.
The flow was also seen in front of a simple and accurate carpenter and whistling while working as a reporter who absorbed without significant effort.
The two dimensions are used to working with the process flow are: first, the challenge, and secondly, the ability or skills.
For example, if I’m facing a challenge far below my abilities, I get bored or fall into apathy, I’m facing a challenge that goes beyond my abilities, I get anxious or worried me to wear.
But if I’m facing a challenge that matches my level of ability and my skills, there are likely to fall into the flow.
According to Csikszentmihalyi, the way to the Flow is as follows:
1 .- Make it a game. Watch your work as a fun game and establishes rules, objectives, challenges, which include compensation methods.
2 .- It sets a goal powerful. It should be recalled to systematically intellectual, social, economic or spiritual worth your efforts. The money itself is rarely generates Flow.
3 .- .- Approach devote entire approach to the game. There is only the here and now.
4 .- Surrender to the process. Let yourself go. Do not fight and do not deviate from the goal.
5 .- Ecstasy. This is the natural result of the previous steps. Suddenly come by surprise, and when will you recognize it immediately.
Eye, do not compare the flow with happiness. The subject of happiness is too complicated.
What is that many people feel happy after being involved in a process flow. The happiness that implies a certain awareness, as if a trap-cosmic consciousness as soon get happiness seems to disappear and can break your process flow.
