Introduction to Noteleaf
Noteleaf is a web based application that helps you keep track of the people you meet. The application allows you to take notes about people and keep in touch using follow-up reminders. Think of Noteleaf as your virtual social memory!
Why was it created?
Necessity is the mother of invention, they say. This is exactly how Noteleaf came into existence. Several months ago, when the people behind this wonderful application moved to the Bay Area, they met with a lot of new people and wanted to stay in touch with them. However, apart from their memories, they did not have any other method of recollecting who they had met, and the best ways to follow up with them. As a result, they came up with the idea of creating a web service that helps its users remember the people they meet and streamline a way of following-up with them.
How does it work?
Noteleaf is currently available as a web based application and a bookmarklet, which means you can create new entries and or append existing ones as you stumble upon information, all via your browser’s toolbar. This functionality is extremely useful, as Noteleaf integrates with several popular web services such as Facebook. Twitter and LinkedIn, which means you can modify your contacts’ details as you come across more information. It also supports making new entries into Google Calendar, allowing you to easily create follow-up reminders on the fly.
Noteleaf is currently in its Beta stage, and the developers are adding several new features that will make it more functional and practical to use. Currently, the service can import contacts from your Facebook account, while a similar support from other obvious places to pull in contacts from (such as Twitter, Gmail, LinkedIn, etc.) is being added. Also, a mobile-specific version of the service has been released which makes it easy to use while you are on the go.
Throughout the Beta stage, Noteleaf will be offered as a completely free of charge service, although the developers do plan to offer upgrades to premium subscriptions for people who need faster and more efficient ways of organizing follow-ups and reminders within their teams.
