Below is my review on oDesk. oDesk is the best website because here you can easily get lots of freelancing jobs. On the internet, this is among the biggest freelancing marketplace. Therefore, here in my review of oDesk I will discuss bad as well as good both sides of oDesk.
The basic thing about this site is that oDesk normally takes the 10% fees for what you are usually paid. For instance, if you get $50 for your project, so oDesk will take $5 as fees. oDesk does not have any fees for membership, and it is totally free to join. oDesk is not any scam site, if oDesk was a scam site, then this would not be the right place of preference for lots of members all over the world. It is the best place for bringing employers as well as employees together. A few people who generally talk that oDesk are a scam; it is because they were duped by some buyers there, this occurs occasionally. Though, if you are cautious and always ask for the milestone payments or working along with those employers who have lots of reviews there, by this way you can simply avoid the scammers on oDesk.
Quantity and quality of the jobs posted at oDesk
Good: There are lots of jobs at this site for approximately all the categories, which you can normally think of. Thus, there are plenty of jobs to select from, you can easily find out those jobs where your skills and abilities are in demand in addition to apply for those along with your capability. For instance, several writers are good at creative writing whilst many are better in writing of sales copies. As there are numerous jobs, you can constantly find out some, which are tailored in order to fit your skills.
Bad: Although, there are lots of jobs posted at oDesk but their quality is not the best. For instance, there are merely some jobs along with reputable businesses. I’m not certain how bad it is – this is almost similar in most of the similar websites like Guru or Elance, but on Elance there are some better-quality jobs posted as compared to oDesk because Elance is older as compared to oDesk. Great feedback system at oDesk
Good: At oDesk, the feedback system is superb as well as it is very much helpful about both employers and employees as compared to at similar websites like Guru or Elance. After the project is completed, oDesk will request both the employers and employees to give the feedback for various parameters like as deadlines, quality of work, payments, communication, etc. Additionally, both parties must leave a comment, which appears on their profile page.
Bad: About the oDesk feedback system, there is nothing very bad. Though, sometimes an employer also can give you negative feedback that will affect your profile as well as the overall scores badly.
Bottom Line: The feedback system at oDesk is outstanding but always careful in giving low feedback.
