The campaign that launched the Internet Watch Foundation ( IWF ) of the United Kingdom, is an example to follow by agencies of all countries.
Basically, it consists in a campaign to make people aware and know how they should report illegal content that is in line to the authorities subsequently taken in the matter .
According to a study made by the IWF , more than three quarters of those who surf the Internet, have been found with some sites with illegal content (pornography, racist material, etc.), and they have made anything by not knowing where they should report it.
With this in mind, the organization has launched a campaign that consists of a website, post office and up ads on other sites, to inform people on how to report this type of content.
The data can be sent via the IWF so anonymously, or they can give personal data, thus allowing the informant then know that concrete steps were taken.
I honestly know as I report this type of content in Argentina … is more, or if there is an organization that makes this kind of work … does anyone know? (if they are from other countries, is invited to comment on the situation there as well).
